Product film / Self-initiated concept

TIDELIGHT SKIN

SPACE FOR YOUR EVENING.

An AI-assisted skincare concept campaign built around a quiet evening moment. An existing three-image series was extended into a 9.42-second vertical product film, using its stone-counter hero as the packaging reference and adding typography in post-production.

A concept with a clear boundary

TIDELIGHT SKIN is an original fictional brand concept created for a self-initiated portfolio project, not a commissioned client campaign. The work demonstrates creative direction, product review and an AI-assisted production workflow. It has not been tested in a live advertising campaign, so no sales or conversion results are claimed.

One evening. One message.

The audience hypothesis was people drawn to simple, calm imagery around an evening skincare routine. The creative question was how to give an everyday moisturizer a recognizable mood while keeping the packaging easy to see.

The single message was SPACE FOR YOUR EVENING. Warm window light, an uncluttered stone counter and restrained camera movement support that idea. The line describes a mood and occasion; it makes no claim about sleep, ingredients or skincare performance.

The original square hero image established the product design, warm lighting and evening message.

AI reconstructed first frame

The portrait first-frame draft removed the external headline. Small generative changes remain visible; the image is a concept adaptation, not a pixel-preserving retouch.

Direction and production

I set the creative direction, reviewed the product references and generated the video within an AI-assisted workflow. AI assistance supported image adaptation, prompt development, review and finishing. The decisions focused on what to preserve, what the camera should reveal and which changes would add unnecessary risk.

The project began with three existing square concept images: a stone-counter hero, a bedside scene and a bathroom scene. The hero image became the primary packaging reference because its front label was clear and the setting was simple. The other two images remained supporting scene references rather than competing product templates.

A separate portrait first frame removed the large headline and created room for the product and later typography. This was an AI reconstruction: it retained the concept’s recognizable colors, jar silhouette and label, but introduced small differences in proportions, surface texture and highlights. It is not evidence of pixel-identical preservation of a real product.

The film keeps the jar still while the camera moves slowly closer. No hands, opening lid or rotating product were added, avoiding the need to invent unseen packaging or contents. The title was added during editing rather than generated inside the moving image.

Review and finishing

Review combined full-file decoding, chronological frame sampling and closer inspection of the front label. The sampled frames showed readable TIDELIGHT / S K I N / DAILY / MOISTURIZER lettering, a stable overall jar shape and a complete product within the frame. This was not a manual inspection of every frame.

The source was lightly cropped and resized to a strict 9:16 canvas. Audio and embedded workflow metadata were removed, while the original file was preserved. The final title version uses dark burgundy serif typography above the product, with no added transition or music.

The result is a portfolio-ready concept direction for review, demonstrating how a still-image campaign can extend into a restrained product film. Actual advertising effectiveness would require a defined audience, controlled testing and real performance data.
